This was a part of Singapore I never knew existed until BoonHwee alerted CK and me about the closure of this coffeeshop at the end of the August 2011.
I brought my FM2+55F1.2 and my Fuji X100 during this outing. It’s light and would not get in the way of my Wanton Mee and Prata.
As expected, there was many people who wanted to relish the good food in that environment for the last time. CK queued about 20 mins for the Wanton Mee! After Wanton mee, we decided to go for prata too and that was the last. =D
This was a shot of City Plaza as we made our way towards the Hollywood canteen, which is opposite it.
I have no idea what was CK trying to capture but well, he climbed onto the table, like a superstar.
Kopi aunty gracing a smile everywhere. =p
Prata man busy pounding and flipping his pratas (nonstop)
He caught sight of me being an irritant. =D
The shy Kopi Uncle who shuns away from phototaking.
Uncle Carrotcake at work, a pity I did not get to try his food!
2 ladies helping out with the wanton making at the Wanton Mee stall.
Chopping CharSiew for the Wanton mee. Yummy~!
Old school signage, I hope they brought this along to their new location.
Wanton Mee boss. I did not managed to get a shot of him throwing the mee up with his scoop.
Duck Rice stall with a queue as well. I heard from Boon Hwee that this duck rice is pretty good.
Pricing on the Noodle stall.
Yay! This man finally got his Wanton Mee after a long queue. I can see him perspire quite a bit. =D
CK at work, sniping around.
This was a cleaner at the coffeeshop, who got into an argument with another cleaner for pouring dirty plates into his bucket of clean plates. This was captured at the point where he was scolding him.
CharSiew chopping from a distance.
Yummy Prata on the way!!! =D
Another cleaning uncle who is oblivious to the surrounding and just continues to clean his plates…
A auto stitch done on my Fuji X100.
Old school TV and recorder (highlighted by Boon Hwee). Phew!
Chicken rice seller!
This was another iconic part of Paya Lebar I must say, the overhead bridge.
Not wanting to miss another part of history, I took a series of photos and stitched into 1 big shot of, Lion City Hotel.
Another stitching from across the road.
The last few shots are just random street photos taken of people near City plaza. =D
Hope you enjoy the shots! Have a good Tuesday!
