Witnessing of the historical moment between Singapore and Malaysia.
The last operational day of the KTMB railway at Keppel Road was definately a MUST GO! I decided to take a tour with CK after work since my dinner appointment had been cancelled. It was definately worth the time & effort despite all the noisy images (Many shots taken at ISOs from 2000-6400!).
Armed with a fisheye and a 35-70F2.8 lens, it was not sufficient but at least, better than a kit lens. To some extent, I had to pop some light with my popup flash too.
I had feedback that in the lobby area on this very day, there were presence of many spirits. Anyone felt it? (Was told it could be due to too many people around and also with all the flashes popping around, it raised some disturbance).
These were some of the images I have captured on that very day. Enjoy!
The last bits of the kitchen have been wiped clean…
The stone table supported by bricks, no longer seen in public (Hope they preserve this too!)
No more Ramly Burger
The final party
Men in Blue, enjoying the last hours of the railway operations.
The blue hour.
Everyone was waiting for the historical moment.
Anyone knows who this is? He’s so well dressed! and seems to be someone in KTM!
A shot of the clock that stopped working eons ago… The timing was close to the last train’s timing!
A KTM staff on the roof capturing images of the historical moment.
Local policemen were patrolling within the railway station
The holes of the fence that separated people from the passengers and the onlookers
A shot of the design of the roof edges
Picture of a room, which seems to be a old barber shop? (Alot of hair lying around)
Picture of the abandoned kitchen
Shots of these uncles who were enjoying the last few hours at the railway station. They had their business located in the Railway Station Building (Got a namecard of one of the uncle, who owns/work for a container services business there)
A shot of the design of the hanging lamp in the main lobby
KTMB Parking Pte Ltd.
Was so dark that I had to use my popup flash @ F2.8 ISO 3200. Phew!!!
The last passenger train moving off!! Everyone was waving goodbye!!!
Waving goodbye to Singapore!
More waving goodbyes to Singapore!
Even more waving goodbyes to Singapore!
He just had to take his shot, by all means! =D
Check out how many people were here to witness this historical moment!
